Урок у 4 класі "Shops and shopping"

Класс: 4 (поглиблене вивчення)

Тема: Покупки та магазини

Цілі уроку: вчити складати ситуативні діалоги і користуватися ними на практиці; розвивати навики аудіювання, читання і говоріння,  творчі здібності учнів, навики роботи в групі; виховувати  ввічливість та уважність при покупці товару,  підвищити інтерес до вивчення мови.

 

Обладнання: картки: з назвами магазинів, предметів, які продаються в різних типах магазинів;  сигнальні картки; “гроші” для оцінювання (“гривні” різною вартістю).

 

Procedure

І. The beginning of the lesson

  1. Greeting.

Teacher Good morning , dear friends. I am glad to see you. Let me begin our lesson with some riddles. If you guess them , you will know what we are going to speak about . Listen to me and think. .

  • Usually two or more people take part in this process.
  • We do it in a special place.
  • We do it very often.
  • Usually women like to do it, men don’t like.
  • We can’t do it without money.

      2. Aims.

Teacher Yes, you are right. The topic of our today’s lesson  is “Shops and shopping”. We are going to speak  about different kinds of shops and what we can buy   there. We’ll do some interesting task, so by the end of the lesson you should be able to talk about shopping, to talk with shop-assistant. To your surprise you’ll receive money for your activity knowledge. Then, you’ll practice to buy.  Are you ready? Do you like to go shopping?

      3. Brainstorming.

Teacher But before going to the shop you must know the names of them and what you can buy there. So, you’ll have some tests. Are you ready? Let’s start.

  1. Refreshing the vocabulary

Test 1.

 Teacher Listen to the text and agree or disagree with me using your signal cards: agree – green, disagree –  red .

  1. Department stores are large stores which are popular both with the local residents and tourists.
  2. The greengrocery is the place where you can buy fruit and vegetables.
  3. The newsagent’s is the place where you can buy  milk, cottage cheese and butter.
  4.  In Ukraine people use pounds and pence doing shopping.
  5. In Great Britain people use dollars and cents doing shopping.
  6. We can buy medicine at the chemist’s.
  7. You can buy a loaf of bread and rolls at the bakery.

Teacher Now let’s read a text “A Shopping Day”

 

    A Shopping Day

Today is Saturday. This is the day when we do the shop­ping.

First we go to the baker's to get some bread. Then we buy some milk, butter and cheese at the dairy. After that we go to the butcher's where we buy meat, sausages and ham. At the greengrocery we buy fruit and vegetables.

My favorite place to go is the toy shop. It is very big and nice. There are many toys there. I always ask my mum for a new toy or a puzzle.

          On Sundays Mary and her family like to spend time together. They go shopping. Their favourite shopping place is a department store Leeds. It is situated near their house. There are lots of places to visit in Leeds. You can choose and buy clothes and shoes for women, men and children. Here you can find a food market also. You can buy everything you like. After shopping, you can have lunch or dinner in a small café or in a big restaurant. In the evening you can visit a cinema. Leeds is a popular meeting place.
